"gallery IHA residential architecture award 2020"

Announcement of the event

　At the "Doujo of Architecture and Art", we would like to discover residential architecture that can be created in the future, or residential architecture that has not yet appeared in existing media. In recent years, residential architecture has become very interesting to me. The introduction of commons, overcoming the boundary between "public and private", architecture in cycles, sustainable lifestyles, new challenges to "wooden architecture", and ways to unravel the relationship between the architecture and the local community have all increased the density of architectural thinking in recent years. We would like to discover a variety of challenges in residential architecture. Please feel free to apply. (Itsuko Hasegawa)

Application deadline: 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 30

Open Online Review and Presentation: Friday, October 16

Total prize money: 500,000 yen

(allocation for each entry will be determined by the judges)

Second Prize: gallery IHA online lecture instructor

On-line lecture on the selected works: in November (about 4)

The category: Please choose one of the following

A) Build category: construction must have begun at the time of application (any year of completion is acceptable)

(B) Unbuild category: items not yet started at the time of application

Conditions of Application

Must have a function as a residence (can be used in conjunction with shops, remodeling, etc.)

Must be unpublished in a magazine or other existing media (e.g., the company's own website is acceptable)

Application documents (please see the next page for details on how to apply)

①Outline: A4 size, 1 sheet. Your name, your affiliation and career, an outline of your work.

②Art Work: A3 size, maximum of 3 pages in PDF format. Any format is acceptable.

We plan to open all the entries to the public. Please do not put any personal information in the ②.

Judging fee: 1,000 yen per work

1) Please send ①A4-size, 1 sheet of "Outline" by email.

Required information: Name of the architect name (name of the representative and company) and your career (about 100 words)

Title and summary of the work (about 200 words)

Please put "Gallery IHA Housing Architecture Award 2020 Application" in the subject line of the email.
